Technological progress is not built with lines of code alone. It is also built around a table, through conversations, ideas and a shared vision.

It was in this spirit that SHECODE organised the SHECODE Leaders Brunch, a gathering of women leaders from Tech and a range of other sectors around an ambitious goal: to think together about the place of women in building technology in Africa.

A space for dialogue to build the future

Today, the digital transformation is reshaping economies, jobs and opportunities. Yet women are still under-represented in the spaces where the decisions that steer this transformation are made.

The SHECODE Leaders Brunch was born of this conviction: the technology of tomorrow must be designed with women, not merely for women.

More than a simple networking event, the brunch offered a genuine space for reflection, where every participant could share her experience, her journey and her vision of a more inclusive Tech.

Turning challenges into action

The discussions highlighted several major issues: skills development, women’s leadership, mentoring, access to professional opportunities and the need to build strong networks between women.

Beyond identifying the problems, participants shared concrete ideas for action to strengthen the presence of women in Tech, encourage vocations and support talented women towards lasting employment.

These conversations were a reminder that no lasting transformation can happen without collaboration.

A vision driven by SHECODE

Through this initiative, SHECODE reaffirms its mission: to train, connect and support women so that they become major players in Africa’s digital transformation.

The association does not limit itself to passing on technical skills. It also wants to create spaces where ideas circulate, where experiences meet and where collaborations capable of lasting impact are born. The SHECODE Leaders Brunch is fully part of this approach.

The beginning of a network of women leaders

This first edition showed that there is a real will to build a community of women committed to a more inclusive Tech.

Every testimony, every conversation and every encounter strengthened one conviction: women’s emancipation, inclusion and financial freedom through digital technology are no longer mere ambitions. They are already taking shape, through concrete initiatives and women who choose to act.

The SHECODE Leaders Brunch thus marks an important milestone in the life of the association. It lays the foundations of a network of women leaders ready to share their knowledge, support the next generations and actively contribute to the development of the African digital ecosystem.

Because when women take their place in Tech, they do not only change their own future. They help build the future of an entire society.
