It was in this spirit that SHECODE organised the DEVCODEUSES Masterclass, an event devoted to sharing experiences, building skills and finding inspiration.

A meeting to prepare women for the realities of Tech

Bringing together around thirty participants in Yaoundé, this masterclass set out to go beyond technical knowledge.

The discussions focused on an essential theme: the challenges and opportunities offered by today’s tech ecosystem.

In a constantly evolving sector, mastering tools is no longer enough. It is just as important to understand which jobs are hiring, which skills are in demand and which strategies make it possible to build a lasting career in Tech.

Discovering careers with a future

During the event, participants discovered in particular the job of Quality Assurance (QA), a field that is still little known but has become essential in the development of applications and digital solutions.

The discussions showed that Tech careers are not limited to web development. Today’s digital industry offers a wide range of paths in which every profile can find its place.

Learning to sell your skills

One of the highlights of the masterclass focused on professional positioning.

Participants were made aware of an often overlooked reality: having skills is not always enough to seize opportunities.

You still need to know how to present them, build your professional image, develop your visibility and convince recruiters or clients.

This approach is fully in line with SHECODE’s vision: to train women who are able not only to learn, but also to turn their skills into professional opportunities.

A collaboration serving women

The masterclass was also marked by the presence of two women committed to the inclusion of women in Tech: Liliane Tueguem, founder of SHECODE, and Linda Mballa, co-founder of the Dev Girls community. Their talks shared concrete experiences, answered the participants’ questions and conveyed a strong message: Tech is open to every woman who is willing to learn, to persevere and to dare.

A growing community

The success of the DEVCODEUSES Masterclass shows once again the growing interest of young women in digital careers.

It also confirms that, beyond training, women need spaces for exchange, inspiring role models and communities that encourage them to believe in their potential.
